View Our WorkMy name is Huw Ramsey, and I am the founder of Splintered Seconds, a woodworking business based in southern Tasmania. Established in 2024, Splintered Seconds was created out of a passion for woodworking and a deep appreciation for the unique timbers found in our region. The name "Splintered Seconds" reflects the origins of the business. I began by sourcing second-hand and reclaimed timber, giving new life to materials that might otherwise have been discarded. This approach not only honours the natural beauty and character of Tasmanian wood, but also supports sustainable practices within the craft. In 2024, at the age of 16, I decided to share my passion by founding Splintered Seconds. Each item is thoughtfully designed and carefully handcrafted, with a focus on quality, sustainability, and the unique story behind every piece of timber.

We offer personal delivery throughout Southern Tasmania for all our handcrafted pieces. Delivery is arranged at a time that suits you, and we'll ensure your furniture arrives safely and is set up in your space.
Delivery within the greater Hobart area is free for orders over $500. For other locations in Southern Tasmania, a small delivery fee may apply—please contact us for a quote.
Prefer to collect your piece yourself? You're welcome to pick up your order from our workshop by appointment.
At this time, we primarily serve customers in Southern Tasmania. If you're located elsewhere, please get in touch and we'll do our best to arrange shipping or recommend a solution.
We'll coordinate with you to schedule delivery as soon as your piece is complete. Most deliveries are made within 1–3 days of project completion.

By placing an order with Splintered Seconds, you agree to our terms of service. All custom orders require a $50 non-refundable consultation fee, which is credited towards your final purchase. A 50% deposit is required before work begins, with the balance due upon delivery.
We strive to provide accurate timelines and clear communication throughout your project. If delays occur due to material availability or unforeseen circumstances, we will keep you informed and work to resolve any issues promptly.

Each piece we create is handcrafted to order, so we are unable to accept returns for change of mind. However, your satisfaction is very important to us. If there is any issue with the quality or workmanship of your item, please contact us within 7 days of delivery and we will work with you to repair, replace, or resolve the issue as quickly as possible.
